Every time you change a device (computer) connected to the modem you must power cycle (unplug it) the modem. Wait several minutes, plug in the modem. Wait several minutes for the modem to sync with comcast.

Get a router and you can have both computers connected to the Internet at the same time without having to go through this modem power cycling routine, except for once when you connect the router to it.
