since it is not a notification no separate setting to turn it off. you can turn down the volume on cell phone, or cover 'speaker' holes with thumb to mute it, or turn the ringer switch to 'red' mute position. all will stop/reduce the sound.

Re: iPhone xfinity remote app

Rustyben,
Thanks for the tip. Silent switch is more convenient than volume as I want it muted completely immediately then return my phone to ring. Having said that though I have to say that since volume on a multi use device affects everything else that has sound I can't figure why Xfinity would have programmed this chime in the first place. Like who would ever want to know audibly that they decided to display the channel that they're looking at onto their TV? What else would they be doing? I would think that a chime like this could only be useful in alerting the user that they had done something UN-intentionally. I get this chime only on my iPhone, not on my Android platform tablet. Since this is only a makeshift solution by customers compensating for Xfinity's app developers, prior to giving you a solution checkmark can you tell me do these forum questions make their way to Xfinity for improvements or do I need to submit a request in a different format?

These forums are monitored by Comcast employees such as myself. We appreciate the feedback on the audible chime and I will share it with the team.

We have many features of the app for customers who are blind/low-vision or deaf/hard-of-hearing. This chime is beneficial to those in the first group who require audible feedback which would otherwise not be present.  I can also understand how someone without these accessibility needs may desire a way to mute this feature in settings.  Again, I'll share it with the team.
