Unable to access email for long periods of time from desktop - every day, all the time.

Why is my ability to login to my email at Comcast.net soooo sketchy all the time.
When I hit the email icon it just opens another session of Xfinity, and NOT email.

This has been happening so much lately - sometimes I go hours without being able to reach my email, and this happens day after day, week after week, month after month.
HUGE blocks of time when email is unavailable.
At first I wrote it off to your programmers doing upgrades, etc.
But this has been going on for months.
What is going on with the inability to login to email reliably?
