administrator password rejected

administrator password rejected

Since I added the Constant Guard software the administrator password is rejected when it is entered from my user account. This means I cannot move or delete some shortcut icons on the desktop and cannot run some utility programs that ask for the administrator password. Is there a way to fix this?

Re: administrator password rejected

The GuardedID module is the cause.

Can you boot into Safe mode and uninstall it using Add/Remove Programs?

Re: administrator password rejected

Thank you! This is what I did..Switched to administrator account, then found that GuideID was listed as a startup program. (I used one of the Tweak programs) I unchecked it and rebooted and now I can move shortcuts and run programs from the user account. An interesting sidelight ... While in the administrator account I moved some shortcut icons into a desktop folder; When I returned to the user account after rebooting, those icons were gone from the desktop.

Problem solved!
