Norton Security suite can't activate b/c of no response from the Symantec server?

Norton Security suite can't activate b/c of no response from the Symantec server?

I've tried numerous times to activate the Norton Security suite, uninstalling then reinstalling, but it keeps saying that an internet connection is necessary to complete activation. I clearly have an internet connection, but how do I resolve this problem? I'm losing my patience with this program.

Please read thru the information in this link  http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Security-and-Anti-Virus/How-to-Initially-Install-Norton-Security-Suite/... first and see if the part about a previous Anti-virus install applies.  If it does please do the removal of the previous AV.

 

Then read thru the information in the following link http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Security-and-Anti-Virus/How-To-Uninstall-Reinstall-Norton-Security-Suit... and do a complete uninstall and reinstall running the Norton Removal Tool in between.

 

Please be sure to obtain a fresh download of NSS from the Comcast website.  Do not use a copy youhave saved on your system.

 

Post back with any problems/questions you may have.

Well I've followed your instructions but it keeps saying that there's no response recieved from the Symantec server.Could there be an issue with the firewall?

Are you signed into Comcast on your primary account?

 

Please look at the below link and tell us where in the instructions you are having problems.

- connecting for the downlioad?

- connecting for the activation?

 

BTW what browser are you using - Fire Fox, Internet Explorer or other and also what version?  FF 4, IE 9 or IE 8 or FF 3.6.16
